Ugly veggies deserve love, too.

I’ve never met a vegetable that I didn’t like. I credit my mom for this because she made it a habit for us to snack on raw veggies and fruits growing up. But one thing that I am bad about is grocery shopping. So I decided to try a produce delivery service, hoping that the convenience would keep my crisper better stocked.

Imperfect Produce not only provides this food delivery service, but they also combat food waste. They sell the produce that is rejected for a number of different reasons including asymmetry, scarring, or discoloration. The produce is perfectly fine and edible; it just isn’t considered conventionally attractive.
This “ugly” produce comes from many different farms, and you can customize your produce box. For this box, I chose squash, tomatoes, onions, oranges, strawberries, turnips, jalapenos, and asparagus. I chose to receive a medium box delivered every other week, but you can also get weekly shipments or even pause your subscription at any time. My total came to around $18 which was a great price. I was also pleasantly surprised by the text I received the day of delivery that allowed me to track the driver.

My produce was really fresh and delicious, and I am pleased with Imperfect Produce as a whole. It’s always nice when a service is convenient and has a noble cause at the same time. I’ll definitely keep my subscription and continue to support this company. If you want to try the service and get $10 off, use this link. Since you can cancel at any time, you have nothing to lose and lots of fruits and veggies to gain.
